Gaston is sitting in his living room watching tv when he hears a knock at the door. He is met by his old friend Mickey who he hadn’t seen in 4 years.

MICKEY

(enthusiastically)

GASTON

MICKEY

(looking around)

Wow, this is a real nice place you got here, man.

GASTON

MICKEY

Wow, Gaston Michaels. You really made it. How are the kids, man?

GASTON

They’re great, man. No disrespect, but what’re you doing here?

MICKEY

I just wanted to see an old friend, yknow. It’s been like 2 years man.

GASTON

4 years.

MICKEY

Oh shit! Yeah, I guess it has been that long! Show me some love brother!

Mickey leans in to give Gaston a hug which is awkwardly received.

MICKEY (CONT’D)

Man, your house lookin good, you lookin healthy, your kids good. I love that for you man.

GASTON

Aight man, you just come here to chit-chat?

MICKEY

I can’t just wanna see my good friend after 4 years? It’s been so long I just wanna catch up.

Gaston stares at him without saying a word.

MICKEY (CONT’D)

(Nervously)

Ok, I’ll cut to the chase. Look, you know I’m not the type to ask for favors…

GASTON

(Sarcastically)

Oh, you? Never!

MICKEY

What’s that supposed to mean?

GASTON

Nothing, Mickey, keep going.

MICKEY

Well, anyway, I don’t ask for favors all the time so I wondering if you could do me a solid, yknow, for old times sake?

GASTON

I’m sorry, but if you’re asking for money…

MICKEY

No, no it’s not that… it’s just…

GASTON

…It’s just what?

MICKEY

I don’t know who else to ask, and I figured since we got history, we could make it work.

GASTON

Make what work? What are you asking me right now?

MICKEY

Gaston, I need your help on a “job”.

GASTON

A job? I’m sorry but you know I left that life behind.

MICKEY

C’mon Gaston, you can’t just help me out? You’re the best hacker I know!

GASTON

Mickey, I got a family, I got a house I gotta pay for, people rely on me. I can’t risk that to help you out on some job.

MICKEY

There’s no risk man, this job’s real easy, especially for someone as talented as you!

GASTON

Then go ask someone else, if it’s that easy.

MICKEY

(beat)

Nobody’ll answer my calls…

GASTON

So you came to me because I’m the only one who wouldn’t turn you away the second I saw you?

MICKEY

I bet Mario would’ve helped me.

GASTON

MICKEY

You know it’s true! He would never leave anyone hanging.

GASTON

Yeah, and that’s what got him killed! Look, Mickey, I know you probably really need this but I’m not that guy anymore. I think you should leave.

MICKEY

Gaston again says nothing
